Overview
THE ULTIMATE SOUTHERN LAOS CYCLING EXPEDITION
Unlock the hidden secrets of the Mekong on our 7-Day Southern Cycling Laos Loop. This tour is an extraordinary blend of tropical island life and refreshing highland exploration. Starting with a scenic border crossing from Thailand (Ubon Ratchathani), we venture deep into the heart of Southern Laos, a region defined by its colossal waterfalls, ancient Khmer ruins, and world-class coffee plantations.
Your journey begins in Champasak, where the UNESCO-listed Wat Phou stands as a testament to the grand Angkorian empire. From there, we pedal along the life-giving Mekong River into the mystical Si Phan Don (4,000 Islands). Imagine cycling across French colonial bridges on Don Khone, listening to the thunderous roar of the Khone Phapheng Falls—the largest in Southeast Asia—and spotting the rare Irrawaddy dolphins.
But the adventure doesn't end at the river. We then challenge our senses with an ascent to the Bolaven Plateau. Known as the "Coffee Capital," this volcanic plateau offers a refreshing climate, towering twin waterfalls like Tad Fane, and endless rows of aromatic coffee trees. We conclude our loop in Pakse, the vibrant gateway of the south. With a professional support team, high-quality bikes, and authentic local stays, this 7-day loop is the definitive way to experience the soul of Southern Laos.
