Overview
Although you may already feel somewhat familiar with the hilltribes of Northern Vietnam because they have become so iconic and have been photographed so often, the truth is that these tribes, who continue to live according to their traditional ways, are only found in the most remote parts of South East Asia. Northern Vietnam, which has only recently opened to tourists, is unquestionably one of the best places left to see these people's culture.
There is an incredible diversity of hilltribes living in this pristine, scarcely inhabited area, many of whom follow their ancient subsistence farming practices and don't even speak the national language.

One of the most incredible experiences in South East Asia is taking a 12-day Vietnam North East Cycle Tour. Every day as we ascend and descend the various heights of Northern Vietnam, presents a distinct topography, gradient, perspective, and climate. This is an experience that will stick in your memory, and if the pain in your legs isn't enough to remind you of it, then your stunning photos most definitely will.
When a cyclist participates in one of our Vietnam bicycle trips, they will have the opportunity to ride and conquer some of the amazing passes that weave through the hillsides and valleys of Bao Lac. Entering Cao Bang, Fairyland, after passing over rough and precipitous limestone mountain ranges and winding through spectacular peaks with steep gradients.
While the Northeast Vietnamese city of Cao Bang is home to stunning natural features like the Ban Gioc waterfall, a limestone mountain range surrounding vibrant ethnic minority villages, the jagged Quay Son river bending toward verdant rice paddies, etc., and the vibrant traditional culture of the ethnic minority.
You are free to explore the stunning but equally lyrical beauty of the limestone mountains mixed with the overcast mountains during the cycling loop. Climb the mountaintop to get a bird's-eye perspective of the Quay Son River's winding course, drift past the rice fields of Ngoc Con, or take a kayaking trip down the Quay Son stream to the Ban Gioc waterfall.
Riding on concrete village roads, rough and rocky terrain, beautiful green rice fields, and dirt roads will allow you to experience the uncomplicated beauty of the local ethnic population's daily existence. With this exclusive journey, you will travel from Hanoi to Northeast Vietnam's natural wonderland, which includes Ban Gioc Waterfall and Ba Be Lake.
