Overview
The Grand North Vietnam Expedition (15 Days / 14 Nights)
Embark on the ultimate cycling odyssey through the rugged and breathtaking landscapes of Northern Vietnam with Golden Cycling Tours. This 15-Day North Vietnam Epic Bicycle Tour is meticulously designed for adventure seekers who want to test their limits while soaking in the most iconic scenery Southeast Asia has to offer. This journey is not just a ride; it is a deep immersion into the "Land of the Giants," where towering limestone peaks, deep canyons, and emerald rice terraces create a backdrop for the challenge of a lifetime.
Starting from the historical capital of Hanoi, we quickly transition to the frontier province of Ha Giang. You will pedal through the legendary Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark, conquering steep inclines and navigating hairpin turns that offer jaw-dropping views of the Nho Que River and the Ma Pi Leng Pass. But the adventure doesn't stop there. The route takes you westward into the hidden valleys of Hoang Su Phi, famous for its gravity-defying terraced fields, and up to the misty heights of Sapa.
The second half of the journey explores the historic and cultural heart of the Northwest. You will tackle the Tram Ton Pass—the highest mountain pass in Vietnam—before descending into the remote regions of Sin Ho and Lai Chau. Pay homage to history in Dien Bien Phu, the site of the famous 1954 battle, and traverse the scenic plateaus of Son La and Moc Chau, where lush tea plantations and plum orchards dominate the horizon.
Throughout these 1,000+ kilometers, you will witness the vibrant cultures of the H'mong, Dao, Thai, and Tay ethnic groups, staying in a mix of cozy hotels and authentic local homestays. With professional support vehicles, expert cycling guides, and a route that balances grueling climbs with rewarding descents, this 15-day expedition is the definitive way to experience the soul of Vietnam on two wheels.
