Overview
The Untamed Trails of the Northern Frontier
Step into a world where the road ends and the adventure begins. The Off-road Mountain Bike Tour: Bac Ha to Ha Giang 8 Days is a high-octane expedition designed by Golden Cycling Tours for riders who crave raw terrain, technical challenges, and deep cultural immersion. This journey takes you across the rugged boundary between Lao Cai and Ha Giang provinces, traversing landscapes that remain largely untouched by mainstream tourism.
Starting from the vibrant "White Plateau" of Bac Ha, we leave the asphalt behind to navigate ancient buffalo paths, narrow forest single-tracks, and steep limestone ridges. This tour is a sensory feast: you will pedal through the legendary rice terraces of Hoang Su Phi, a UNESCO-recognized masterpiece of human ingenuity, and visit the mysterious ancient rock carvings of Nam Dan. Unlike standard tours, we prioritize the "off-road" experience—pushing through muddy tracks, rocky descents, and hidden valleys where the colorful Flower H'mong, Nung, and Dao people maintain centuries-old traditions.
Every day is a masterclass in mountain biking, supported by our professional team who understand the nuances of technical trail riding. From the mist-covered peaks of Ho San to the lush tea plantations of Thong Nguyen, this 8-day saga is the ultimate tribute to the spirit of exploration. If you are looking for a tour that tests your skills while rewarding you with the most spectacular views in Southeast Asia, this is the ride you've been waiting for.

Reviews
Golden Cycling Tours took us on a biking adventure like no other. The trails were amazing, and the guides were knowledgeable and friendly. It was a fun and exciting way to see the countryside and get a great workout!
Breathtaking The tour was amazing. My rider (Shi) was friendly, funny, considerate and a great driver. It was exhilarating but, crucially, it felt safe and comfortable. The places we stayed at were really nice, particularly the hotel on the first night where I had a private room and an en suite. I liked how sociable the tour was too, which made it easy to make friends as a solo traveller. Even though it was cloudy for the whole tour, the landscapes were breathtaking. In fact, the fog may have added to the beauty. The rain on the last day did make the last leg of the trip a bit challenging, but other than that it was a great experience all round.
