Overview
Unveil the Hidden Soul of India: An 11-Day Journey Through the Heartland
If you believe that the real India lives in its villages, then the Rural Rajasthan Cycling Tour (11 Days) is the journey you have been waiting for. While the majestic monuments of the cities are breathtaking, the true magic of Rajasthan lies in the spaces between them—in the dust of the backroads, the shade of ancient Banyan trees, and the warm hospitality of the rural communities. This tour is designed for the traveler who seeks authenticity over checklists, offering an intimate look at a way of life that has remained unchanged for centuries.
Starting from the romantic "City of Lakes," Udaipur, we leave the chaotic highways behind and steer our handlebars towards the rugged beauty of the Aravalli Hills. This is not just a cycling trip; it is a time-travel expedition. As you pedal through winding country roads, you will witness the rhythm of rural life: ox-carts laden with fodder, women in vibrant veils (Ghoonghat) fetching water from village wells, and shepherds guiding their flocks through the scrubland.
The route is carefully curated to challenge and reward. You will conquer the slopes leading to Kumbhalgarh Fort, home to the second-longest wall in the world, and enjoy thrilling descents into the valley of Ranakpur, famous for its exquisite Jain temples. But the highlight of this tour is the stays in Rural Heritage Hotels. We avoid standard commercial hotels in favor of restored forts (Garhs) and noble mansions (Rawlas) in small towns like Jojawar, Ghanerao, or Deogarh. Here, the owners often dine with you, sharing legends of their ancestors and the history of the region.
From the lush hills, we transition to the edge of the desert, riding through landscapes dotted with Khejri trees and elusive wildlife like the Blue Bull (Nilgai) and Antelopes. The journey concludes in the regal capital of Jaipur, but not before you have sipped countless cups of chai with village elders, visited local schools, and experienced the "Atithi Devo Bhava" (Guest is God) philosophy firsthand. Join us for 11 days of pedaling, culture, and connection on the backroads of Rajasthan.
