Tour Plan
Start your day with a pickup from your hotel in Hanoi and transfer by car to the outskirts of Hanoi. Meet your local guide and get fitted for your bike. Start your cycling adventure on a paved road through Hoa Binh village, passing by popcorn fields, vegetable gardens, and smiling faces.
Cross the river and arrive at Tram Pagoda. Take a short rest and explore the pagoda, which was built in the early 16th century. Continue cycling to Tram Gian Pagoda. If you arrive here around 11:00, you may meet up with local pupils who are leaving school. They are happy to pedal along with you as they are keen to see foreigners and to try practice English.
Arrive at Tram Gian Pagoda. This pagoda is thought to have been built in 1185 and is home to many precious artifacts. You may wish to spend some time visiting the pagoda before taking an off-the-beaten-path road through rice fields, vegetable gardens, and a noodle village.
Stop by a local house to learn how noodles are made. Continue cycling until you find the dyke again. Turn right and follow the paved road to lunch. After lunch, transfer by car to Thay Pagoda. This pagoda was built in the 11th century and consists of three sections. Visit Thay Pagoda and learn about its history and significance. Return to Hanoi by car. Arrive back at your hotel in Hanoi.
This is a great way to experience the rural life of Vietnam and learn about its history and culture. You will also have the opportunity to visit two important cultural sites, Tram Gian Pagoda and Thay Pagoda.
Great tour overall! I loved seeing the streets of Hanoi up close. The guide was very helpful, and the pace was perfect. It could be nice to add some more challenging routes for more experienced cyclists.
