Up until very recently, settlements in Hoang Su Phi, one of Vietnam's most unspoiled areas, were completely cut off from the outside world. With its high mountains, deep valleys, streams, and forests, and an average elevation of 800 meters above sea level, this region is renowned for its exceptional natural beauty and pristine traditional way of life. Riding a bicycle over the 'Heaven Gate 2' mountain pass (+895m) to Tan Quang is a challenge we take on. Beautiful views can be seen below a broad, open sky from the pass.
