Overview
THE ULTIMATE MOUNTAIN ODYSSEY
Embark on the Grand Loop of the Northwest, a 7-day cycling expedition that defines the spirit of adventure in Vietnam. This meticulously designed journey is not just a bike tour; it is a high-altitude pilgrimage through the most formidable and breathtaking landscapes of the Indochinese peninsula. We invite you to traverse the "Four Great Passes" territory, where every pedal stroke takes you deeper into the raw beauty and ancient traditions of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range.
Starting from the historic valley of Son La, your odyssey unfolds across the legendary Pha Din Pass, where the road literally meets the heavens. You will navigate the rugged back roads of Tuan Giao, witness the dramatic limestone gorges of the Na River, and explore the vibrant frontier culture of Lai Chau. The climax of your journey is the conquest of the O Quy Ho Pass—the highest road in Vietnam—standing at 2,000 meters with the mighty Fansipan Peak as your backdrop.
Throughout this 7-day loop, you will find yourself immersed in a kaleidoscope of ethnic cultures, from the Black Thai and Red H’mong to the silver-adorned Black Dao. This is a tour for those who crave the physical triumph of a 26km "monster climb" and the serenity of waking up to mist-covered rice terraces. With Golden Cycling Tours, you are supported by professional-grade equipment and expert guides who ensure that your focus remains on the rhythm of the mountains and the soul of the Northwest.
