Overview
THE PULSE OF THE SOUTHERN WATER-WORLD
Unplug from the high-octane energy of Ho Chi Minh City and surrender to the rhythmic, sun-drenched life of the "Rice Bowl of Asia." Our 2-Day Mekong Delta Cycling Odyssey is a masterclass in slow travel, meticulously designed to take you far beyond the reach of standard tour buses. This is an invitation to witness the authentic daily lives of the Mekong’s residents, where every turn of the pedal reveals a new smile, a hidden orchard, or a floating market frozen in time.
In just 48 hours, you will witness the remarkable evolution of the Delta's landscape. We leave the urban sprawl behind for the lush, fruit-laden sanctuary of Vinh Long, where narrow paths are shaded by rambutan and mango trees. You will feel the pulse of rural Vietnam as we pedal toward Long Xuyen, a city that remains refreshingly raw and unfiltered. This journey is a sensory feast: the scent of ripening pomelos, the sound of water lapping against wooden hulls, and the sight of endless emerald rice paddies that stretch toward the horizon.
With Golden Cycling Tours, you don't just pass through the Mekong; you become a part of its story. We navigate a labyrinth of secret paths, cross mighty rivers on local ferries, and cycle through the heart of the countryside where the "real" Vietnam still lives. Whether you are navigating a narrow single-track trail, testing your balance on a rustic bridge, or watching the sunrise paint the floating markets in shades of gold, this 2-day expedition offers the ultimate balance of physical activity and profound cultural enlightenment. This is the definitive short-break experience for those who want to see the Mekong’s soul from the saddle.

-
Cycling Distance: ~ 45 km
-
Road Condition: Perfectly flat terrain. A mix of narrow, shaded cement village paths, quiet paved country roads, and scenic canal-side tracks.
Your adventure begins at 7:30 AM as the Golden Cycling Tours team meets you at your hotel in Saigon. We leave the city’s roar behind in our support van for a transfer to Vinh Long, arriving as the Delta wakes up to the mid-morning sun.
As we unload the bikes, the air changes instantly. We start our ride along beautiful country roads, where the vibrant green of the rice fields seems to glow under the tropical sun. The highlight of the morning is a visit to a sweet potato farm, where you can see the local farmers at work and learn about the backbone of regional agriculture. After a rustic lunch in Binh Tan, we push deeper into the Delta. The afternoon is a glorious ride toward Tiger Island (Cu Lao Ong Ho). Accessible only by boat, this island is a car-free sanctuary. We pedal through quiet hamlets and lush orchards before checking into our authentic local homestay. Here, the magic truly begins: share a traditional dinner of local delights with your hosts and enjoy the rare peace of a night in the heart of the river.
