🌟 OVERVIEW
Prepare for the Ride of a Lifetime.
Welcome to a journey that transcends the ordinary—a cycling odyssey through the soul of Vietnam. This is not merely a tour; it is a vivid tapestry woven from the threads of ancient history, raw nature, and indomitable spirit.
Your adventure begins in the imperial serenity of Hue, but the tranquility soon gives way to the wild, rugged embrace of the Truong Son Mountains. Here, you will tread the legendary West Ho Chi Minh Trail, a path once veiled in the smoke of war, now reclaimed by the majestic silence of primeval jungles and drifting clouds. You will pedal through corridors of green where few travelers venture, touching the very spine of Indochina.
But the mountains are just the beginning. As you descend from the highlands, the landscape transforms dramatically. The scent of pine is replaced by the salty tang of the East Sea. You will trace the undulating coastline of Central Vietnam, racing the waves along pristine white sands, exploring the surreal limestone kingdoms of Phong Nha, and standing in solemn silence at the DMZ—where history is etched into the earth. From the mist-shrouded peaks to the sun-drenched shores, every kilometer of this 750km journey tells a story. Are you ready to write yours?

07:00: Our journey begins in the heart of Hue. The team gathers for a comprehensive bike fitting and safety briefing. The anticipation in the air is palpable as we check gears and adjust helmets, ready for the adventure ahead.
-
07:30: We roll out, crossing the iconic Trang Tien Bridge. The morning sun glitters on the Perfume River as we leave the imperial city behind. The first 20km is a gentle warm-up, gliding through peaceful rural villages, past emerald rice paddies and fragrant pomelo gardens, allowing your legs to find their rhythm.
-
09:00: Coffee Stop: We pause by the banks of the Ta Trach River. Here, you'll taste the robust flavor of local Vietnamese coffee—a caffeine kick to fuel the climb ahead—paired with fresh local bananas and pastries.
-
10:30: The real adventure begins. The flat horizon vanishes, replaced by the looming silhouette of the Truong Son range. We tackle Ta Luong Pass, the first true test of your endurance. As you climb, the noise of civilization fades, replaced by the symphony of the jungle.
-
12:00: Lunch is served picnic-style amidst nature or at a rustic hillside eatery. Feast on "Hill-chicken" (Gà đồi)—firm, flavorful meat served with sticky rice, a local staple that powers the mountain people.
-
13:30: We push onward to conquer A Co Pass. The air gets cooler, cleaner, and crisp. To your left and right, the green canopy stretches endlessly.

Reviews
Every day on this 10-day tour was different - challenging mountain rides, quiet jungle roads, and breathtaking coastal stretches. What impressed me most was the storytelling: we didn’t just see Vietnam, we learned its stories. The accommodations were well-chosen, the team professional and friendly, and the support vehicle was always nearby when needed. This is more than a tour — it’s an experience that stays with you.
This “symphony” tour truly lived up to its name. The route felt like a well-composed journey — powerful, emotional, and beautiful. Cycling past former battlefields one day, and watching the sunset by the sea the next, was a unique contrast I’ll never forget. Golden Cycling Tours attention to detail was outstanding. Our guide was passionate, patient, and knowledgeable. It was an honor to ride with this team and discover Vietnam in such a meaningful way.
I’ve done cycling tours in Europe and South America, but nothing compares to this one. Vietnam’s central region is a hidden gem, and the combination of the Ho Chi Minh Trail with the coastal ride was genius. We rode past rice fields, quiet mountain towns, and along turquoise beaches. Every day was exciting, different, and memorable. Golden Cycling Tours exceeded my expectations — this is the kind of adventure that makes you fall in love with travel again.
This was not just a cycling tour — it was a journey through the soul of Vietnam. The Ho Chi Minh Trail showed us resilience and history, while the central coast gave us peace and beauty. Golden Cycling Tours team was outstanding. Everything ran smoothly — from logistics to food to safety. The combination of challenge and relaxation made this one of the most balanced and rewarding trips I’ve taken. Unforgettable!
