We begin our pedaling journey through picturesque rice paddies, quaint towns, a bustling floating market, and the lush, natural splendor of Cambodia on paved roads and well-traveled routes. You can discover more about the dark period of Cambodian history by riding through "Killing Field."
We continue our bicycle journey through Angkor Wat, the Mother of All Temples, on lonely tracks and among enormous trees. This temple, which is thought to be the biggest religious structure in the world, is a source of power and pride for all Khmers. It is the ideal combination of symbolism and symmetry. This is the most well-known temple of Angkor, constructed in the twelfth century by King Suryavarman II. We will start to solve the mysteries of the bas-reliefs, which depict stories from the Khmer Empire and Hindu mythology, as we go around. This elaborate carving, spanning nearly a kilometer, is a contender for the title of longest continuous work of art in the world.
Next, we make our way to the inner sanctuary's higher floors. On their journey to meet the Gods, pilgrims would crouch down the very steep last stairs leading to Angkor's upper terrace. At last, the holy center of Angkor Wat, the pinnacle, comes into view. Then, in the late morning, we proceed to see Angkor Thom, the enormous walled city that was King Jayavarman VII's masterwork. Our visit starts at the Leper King's Terrace. We keep going down the Terrace of Elephants, which was once the king's observation gallery for overseeing processions, plays, and traditional athletic events. The Baphuon, one of Angkor's most exquisite temples, is located at the southernmost point and dates to the eleventh century. The mysterious and enchanted Bayon Temple serves as our finale. The four faces of Avalokiteshvara (the Buddha of Compassion) atop each of its 54 towers.

Greetings from Vietnam. When you arrive at Tan San Nhat International Airport, a driver and guide from Golden Cycling Tours will meet you and take you to the hotel located in the center of Ho Chi Minh City. Known by its former name, Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City is known as "the pearl of the Far East." One of the most memorable place names in Asia is undoubtedly Saigon, the biggest and busiest city in Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh City has the most Western atmosphere of any Vietnamese city. Amazing contrasts can be found in this city: upscale new international hotels, upscale dining establishments, and hip clubs coexist alongside roadside noodle stands, noisy cyclo drivers, and street kids. Markets, pagodas, karaoke clubs, and golf courses compete for space with bowling alleys, shopping centers, and golf courses. The adjectives "bustling," "booming," "crowded," and "noisy" barely begin to describe Saigon's addictive and frequently captivating chaos. However, there are also the majestic French colonial boulevards and buildings, the Cathedral, the waterfront, and the peaceful times spent at a sidewalk cafe taking in the breathtaking view of the world passing by at a fast pace. When you get to the hotel, sign in and enjoy some alone time. If there is time, we will spend a half-day exploring the War Remnants Museum, the Sai Gon Central Post Office, Independence Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, and Ben Thanh Market. Afterward, we will head back to the hotel for a quick regroup and itinerary review before heading out to supper.
