Overview
The Ultimate Himalayan Crossover: From Sacred Rivers to Silent Peaks
Prepare for an epic 16-day odyssey that traverses the entire breadth of the "Land of the Gods" (Devbhoomi). The Cycling in Uttaranchal / Uttarakhand Tour is our most comprehensive itinerary in the Indian Himalayas, seamlessly connecting the rugged, spiritual terrain of the Garhwal region with the lush, serene landscapes of Kumaon. This is not just a cycling trip; it is a grand exploration of North India's ecological and cultural diversity.
Your journey begins in Garhwal, starting from the colonial hill station of Mussoorie, the "Queen of Hills." You will descend towards the azure waters of the massive Tehri Lake, Asia’s highest dam, before riding alongside the holy Ganges River into Rishikesh, the Yoga Capital of the World. Here, the energy is electric, filled with the sound of temple bells, white-water rapids, and evening prayer ceremonies (Aarti).
From the spiritual highs, we descend into the untamed wilderness of the foothills. We ride through the misty cantonment town of Lansdowne and enter the legendary Jim Corbett National Park. Trading pedals for a Jeep Safari, you will track the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger and wild elephants in India’s oldest national park.
The second half of the expedition takes you into Kumaon, a region famous for its "silent hills" and panoramic snow views. The route challenges your legs with climbs to Ranikhet and Kausani, rewarding you with a 300km-wide horizon of Himalayan peaks, including the sacred Nanda Devi. We cycle through the dense oak forests of Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary, explore the ancient stone temples of Jageshwar, and conclude the grand tour in the Lake District of Nainital.
This 16-day tour is a test of endurance and a feast for the soul. It involves varied terrain—from steep ascents and thrilling switchback descents to rolling forest roads. With full vehicle support, comfortable heritage accommodation, and expert guidance, this is the definitive way to experience the magic of the Indian Himalayas.

Tour Plan
The Park established in 1936 as Indias first national park, Corbett is famous for its wide variety of wildlife and its beautiful location. It covers 520 sq. km. on the banks of the Ramganga River in the foothills of the Himalaya. It may seem incongruous for a national park to be named after a famous British hunter-Jim Corbett is best known for his book The man-eaters of Kumaon, and was greatly revered by local people for shooting tigers that had developed a liking for human flesh. More commonly seen wildlife includes wild elephant, langur monkey (black face, long tail), rhesus macaque, peacock, and several types of deer including chital, sambar, hog deer and barking-deer, monitor lizard, wild boar and jackal.
