Overview

Embark on a profound journey that bridges the gap between Cambodia’s tranquil natural beauty and its complex, poignant history. This full-day cycling expedition is meticulously crafted for travelers who wish to experience the authentic pulse of the Cambodian countryside while gaining a deep, respectful understanding of the nation’s past. We move beyond the urban sprawl of Phnom Penh, trading the city’s bustle for the gentle rustle of rice paddies, the hospitality of rural villages, and the timeless serenity of ancient ruins.

Your day begins with a short transfer to the serene outskirts of the capital. Mounted on our high-quality mountain bikes, we traverse peaceful backroads that wind through vibrant, emerald-green rice fields and quiet local settlements. This route offers a rare, intimate look at the daily rhythms of Khmer life. You will have the opportunity to engage with local vendors, sample unique traditional snacks like fried crickets, and sip on sweet, fresh sugarcane juice—small acts that directly support the local families you meet along the way.

The ride leads us to the historic Ta Prohm Temple at Tonle Bati—an architectural gem reminiscent of the Angkorian era. Here, you will wander through centuries-old stone corridors, experiencing the quiet spirituality that has defined this region for generations. Following a restful, authentic local lunch by the water, we shift our focus to the Choeung Ek Genocidal Center, known globally as the Killing Fields. This visit provides a sobering yet essential context to the Khmer Rouge era (1975–1979). With the guidance of a detailed audio tour, you will honor the memory of those lost and gain a deeper appreciation for the resilience and strength of the modern Cambodian people.
