Overview
The Holy Grail of Adventure Cycling: 475 Kilometers of Pure Grit & Glory
If there is one road in the world that commands respect from every cyclist, it is the Manali-Leh Highway. Our Manali to Leh Cycling Tour is not merely a vacation; it is a rite of passage. It is an odyssey that takes you from the lush, pine-scented valleys of Himachal Pradesh to the stark, lunar landscapes of Ladakh, crossing the backbone of the Great Himalayas. This is widely regarded as one of the most spectacular and challenging vehicular roads on the planet.
The journey begins in Manali, the gateway to the mountains. From here, you leave civilization behind as you ascend towards the Rohtang Pass (or the Atal Tunnel), witnessing a dramatic shift in scenery—from green forests to barren brown cliffs. Over the course of 11 days, you will pedal across five major mountain passes, including the formidable Baralacha La and the towering Tanglang La (5,328m), the second-highest pass on this route.
Every day brings a new challenge and a new marvel. You will test your endurance on the Gata Loops, a dizzying series of 21 hairpin bends that climb 1,500 feet in a matter of kilometers. You will race the wind across the More Plains, a surreal 40km stretch of flat road hovering at 4,700m, flanked by distant snow peaks. You will camp under the Milky Way in Sarchu and Pang, places so remote they feel like another planet.
This tour is an expedition in the truest sense. The air is thin, the weather is unpredictable, and the terrain is unforgiving. But the rewards are unmatched: the camaraderie of fellow riders, the indescribable silence of the mountains, and the overwhelming sense of achievement as you roll into the ancient city of Leh.
We provide a fully supported environment with 4x4 backup vehicles, oxygen cylinders, expert mechanics, and a kitchen crew that whips up hot meals in the middle of nowhere. Whether you are a seasoned endurance athlete or an adventure seeker looking for your next big challenge, the road to Leh awaits.
