Tour Plan
8:30 AM: Meet our guide at your hotel in Hanoi and hop on a taxi to our bike garage. You’ll get there around 8:15 and our guide will show you how to use the bikes and where you’ll be going. You’ll have some time to test out the bikes and make sure they fit you well.
Start pedaling along the Red River dyke for a bit before taking a small trail that goes through popcorn, vegetable and fruit gardens. You’ll mostly ride on quiet roads surrounded by nature and charming countryside villages.
After about two hours of biking, you’ll get to Bat Trang village, a small village on the other side of the Red River, about 13 kilometers southeast of Hanoi center. The village is famous for its beautiful ceramic and pottery products.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, take a short tour of the village and check out the ceramic market, the Bat Trang communal house and the daily life of the locals. Walk through narrow alleys that twist and turn in different directions.
Before heading back, stop by a local workshop where you’ll learn how to make pottery. You can even try to make your own pottery before saying goodbye to your “teacher” and getting back on your bike.
Follow a different road and bike for two more hours back to Hanoi.
The tour will end around 15:30 – 16:00, at your hotel in Hanoi. That’s the end of the Hanoi Countryside Biking Tour Bat Trang Village 1 Day.
I had a fantastic time on the tour. The guide was great at explaining the history and culture of Hanoi, and the bike ride was smooth and safe. I would definitely recommend this to other visitors!
