Overview

Close your eyes for a moment and let your senses drift. What do you hear? It is the reassuring mechanical tick-tick-tick of your Shimano derailleur guiding your chain smoothly across the cassette. It is the crunch of dry leaves under your high-traction mountain bike tires as you glide along secret dirt paths beneath a towering jungle canopy. Breathe in deep. The air is alive with the rich, damp perfume of moss-covered sandstone ruins, transitioning into the sweet, caramelized aroma of palm sugar boiling over open wood stoves in remote stilt villages, and finally, the cool, salty-sweet breeze blowing off the vast waters of the Tonle Sap Lake. This is not a passive vacation spent looking through the glass window of a tour bus. This is the Siem Reap Cycle Tour 6 Days—a deeply immersive, sensory-rich active escape engineered for travelers who want to touch the earth, test their limits, and live their adventure.

Over six unforgettable days, you will cross-section the geographic, historical, and cultural essence of the Siem Reap province. Your journey begins with the legendary Angkor Archaeological Park, where you will bypass the crowded tourist highways on secret forest single-tracks to enter the majestic gates of Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm (the Tomb Raider Temple), and the mystical, smiling stone faces of Bayon. From there, you will push your limits on an epic ride eastward to conquer the spectacular, raw ruins of Beng Mealea, a 12th-century masterpiece completely swallowed by the jungle.

As you head back toward the great lake, the landscape transforms. You will navigate flat unpaved red clay paths through traditional stilt villages to reach Kampong Phluk, where you will trade your saddle for a wooden boat to cruise among houses built on soaring ten-meter-tall stilts. Your aquatic journey continues to the floating community of Chong Kneas before returning to Siem Reap along scenic canal dikes. Finally, your active odyssey concludes with a ride through the heart of the Cambodian countryside to the exquisite pink sandstone temple of Banteay Srei, celebrated for its incredibly intricate carvings.

This short-stay expedition is built on a foundation of professional support, physical challenge, and absolute comfort. Backed by high-performance mountain bikes, a dedicated support vehicle carrying your luggage and standing ready with unlimited cold water, fresh tropical fruits, and professional local guides, you will discover the perfect harmony between active endurance and authentic cultural discovery. Step into the saddle and let the Kingdom of Wonder transform you in just six days.

Your grand Cambodian active journey begins the moment you touch down in the mystical northern province of Siem Reap. The warm, tropical air carries the faint, sweet scent of frangipani blossoms and caramelized palm sugar. Our professional local cycling guide and support team will meet you at the arrival terminal, safely securing your luggage in our private support vehicle.

We transfer directly to our hotel for check-in and immediately gather for a meticulous mechanical bike-fitting session. Our master mechanic will adjust your high-performance mountain bike's suspension, saddle height, and handlebar reach to match your exact physical proportions, ensuring optimal power transfer and absolute comfort.

Once fully fitted, we click our shoes into the pedals and roll out directly into the majestic Angkor Archaeological Park on secret paths known only to local riders. Leaving the main roads behind, our knobby tires transition onto shaded jungle single-tracks that run alongside ancient stone canals and hidden city walls. Our first destination is the magnificent Angkor Wat, entering through the quiet, crowd-free East Gate. Watch the early morning light strike the massive stone towers, illuminating the delicate carvings of celestial dancers (Apsaras).

We mount our bikes and pedal through a thick canopy of ancient banyan trees to Ta Prohm, the "Tomb Raider" temple, where massive strangler fig roots grip the crumbling stone corridors like giant wooden hands. After a delicious local lunch, we pedal inside the monumental walls of Angkor Thom City, navigating narrow dirt pathways to the mystical Bayon Temple. Here, 216 giant, smiling stone faces of Avalokiteshvara gaze down from the towers, reflecting the changing afternoon shadows. We ride back to Siem Reap in the late afternoon, our muscles pleasantly tired and our minds filled with the wonders of an extraordinary day in the saddle.
