Overview
A JOURNEY THROUGH THE CRADLE OF VIETNAMESE CIVILIZATION
Embark on a soul-stirring adventure to the heart of the ancient Kinh Bac region with our Hanoi Countryside Bike Tour – But Thap Dong Ho Phat Tich 1 Day. This tour is meticulously crafted for those who wish to go beyond the typical tourist trails and immerse themselves in the spiritual and artistic foundations of Northern Vietnam. Just a short ride from the bustling streets of Hanoi, the Duong River valley opens up into a landscape of golden rice fields, tranquil dykes, and sacred landmarks that have stood for nearly a millennium.
Our journey begins at But Thap Pagoda, a masterpiece of 17th-century architecture. Known as the "Pen Brush" pagoda, it houses the National Treasure: the Thousand-Handed and Thousand-Eyed Guan Yin statue, a pinnacle of Vietnamese wood-carving art. From the echoes of ancient chants, we pedal to Dong Ho Village, the birthplace of Vietnam’s most famous folk paintings. Here, the history of the nation is told through vibrant colors made from river shells and forest leaves on traditional "Diep" paper.
The final leg of our cycling odyssey leads us to Phat Tich Pagoda, situated on the slopes of Lan Kha Mountain. Home to one of the largest stone Buddha statues from the Ly Dynasty and a magnificent 27-meter tall giant Buddha overlooking the delta, Phat Tich is a symbol of the flourishing era of Vietnamese Buddhism. This tour is more than a physical challenge; it is a deep dive into the legends, the artistry, and the timeless serenity of the Red River Delta’s countryside.
